Day 16
His temple
I have a place of refuge in God, and He is faithful to listen and answer me. I have learned that His Spirit also has a place to reside within me. This is fascinating, and I want to honor Him as He makes my body a temple. This isn’t a weird temple, but a place for God to make His presence full! If I welcome the Spirit to be alive in my life, then I allow God to work and move in wonderful ways. If I don’t treat my body as a temple, then I can easily forget that God is powerful enough to use me. I want to honor my body as a temple, so that I may also listen and answer Him!
LISTEN
You belong in me, and I belong in you. I have made you a beautiful place of rest for my glory to shine through. I shine light from your soul, and I radiate from your smile. Remember that when my children look at you, they see a reflection of me. I am not a temporary resident in you, but I have made you a home for my Spirit to dwell in. I ask that you welcome Him with gratitude, and be most attentive to what He may be telling you. While my Spirit dwells in you, you are being glorified with me as my precious temple.
READ
1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV: “Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 ESV: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
REFLECT
Reflect on the purpose of a temple.
Do you allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in you as a temple?
How can you honor your body?
Will you trust that God is with you?
Who are you in Jesus? His temple
